Men’s Easter Bank Holiday 4BBB
In Saturday’s Men’s event, Charlie Elliott & Owen Williams played some flawless golf as they combined for a massive 46 points but only just managed to beat Messrs. Olivere & Wilmore by a single point!
St. George’s Day Goblet
In this year’s first Goblet event, Peter & Sheila Templer played some super golf to return 28 points over the twelve holes and must have felt they’d done enough to win but the formidable pairing of Jacques Keyser & Julie Ivelaw-Chapman came in with a tremendous score of 31 points to claim top spot!
Ladies’ Easter Egg Foursomes Stableford
Last Thursday, our ladies played a fun stableford pairs' competition over twelve holes. Three pairs tied on 25 points but winning on countback was the duo of Shirley Aylwin & Belinda Silver, with Sheila Templer & Di Crauford taking second on countback from Sarah Carpenter & Kim Bristow.
Seniors’ versus Stoke Park
Also played last Thursday was the Seniors’ match against Stoke Park where our team came out the wrong side of a very narrow 3 ½ - 2 ½ scoreline, despite each game being extremely close.
Update on Jack Garrood
As most of you will know, my assistant Jack was brutally assaulted about three weeks ago, so I’m giving you an update on how he’s doing and what happened. Jack had dinner with his parents and was dropped off by his mother into Fuengirola to meet his friends. Jack was walking down the street on his own when he was approached by a man who robbed him of his phone and wallet and punched him in the face with a knuckleduster. This punch knocked him unconscious and he was then kicked in the face and head, and whist trying to protect his head, he also kicked his right hand. As a result, Jack’s jaw was fractured in two places and also dislocated and his hand was also fractured. Jack was hospitalised because his jaw required surgery and as a result, his top and bottom jaws have been screwed and wired closed until the bone re-grows and his right hand is now in a plaster cast. He is currently at home with his parents recovering and he will know more about both after he’s been to both follow up appointments later this week.
Obviously, this is a tough time for Jack and several of you have already asked me about making a financial contribution to help Jack so if you would like to make a donation, I will ensure he receives it. Thanks in advance.
Do you need a new wedge?
If you’re looking for a new wedge or wedges, I have a terrific opportunity for you. I have this week taken delivery of six Titleist Vokey SM5 wedges which are all demo wedges which means you can take these out on the course or the practice area to see which one suits you best. And with these wedges ranging in loft between 50° and 60°, you should be able to cover most areas of short game play. Available in standard chrome, oil can or black heads, this is a great way to find the ideal wedge for your game or chosen shot. Please come in to the Pro Shop for further details or click on the image.

So if you’re in need of an extremely lightweight bag that looks great too, please come on in.
And whilst I’m on the subject of bags, I also have Sun Mountain’s H2NO Lite Cart bag which has individual dividers and is waterproof. Polo Ralph Lauren
And I’m also pleased to advise you that I’ve received this season’s mens Polo Ralph Lauren collection of shirts. Many of these beautifully made shirts are club crested and come in great colours and as you know, they not only look great, but they wash really well and last a heck of a long time! So please come in and take a look to see if there’s a new Polo shirt that catches your eye.
For added power in your golf swing, try to ensure during the backswing that your left shoulder gets all the way around and under your chin, ideally pointing behind the golf ball. If you do this, it will ensure you make a full backswing thus creating a really full coil.
