I don’t know about you but the regular “lead-acid” batteries don’t seem to last very long these days, so the answer is simple: a brand new lithium battery. These batteries are so good in so many ways and the benefits over a lead-acid are numerous, such as, they will recharge in about three hours, you will get about five times more life out of a lithium than a lead-acid, they’re more powerful and they’re incredibly light! And at £199.99 , they will also come with a brand new charger and a fantastic two year unlimited warranty and a five year limited warranty. So for further details, please pop into the Pro Shop.

I almost got to caddy in The Open…
And finally on Tuesday, I caddied at Woburn in the Final Qualifying event for The British Open, for a young chap that I've been coaching for the last five years. Tomasz Anderson - a seriously good and seriously long golfer - knocked it around The Marquess in a pair of 69s to finish tied third and thus in a three-man playoff for the final qualifying spot. Unfortunately, on the first playoff hole, one of the other competitors pitched in from about thirty yards and that was that. And there I was dreaming of being at Hoylake; so close, but yet so far.
Position yourself from the start of the hole
With the greens being so firm and fast at the moment, it's vital that you start your tactical play of the hole right from the tee. For example, you should be looking at the flag position on the green before you drive so you can ascertain where you want to try and position your drive. For example, if the pin is cut on the right side of the green, generally speaking you would want to position your ball on the left side of the fairway and to do that, you'd be wise to tee up on the right side of the tee. Try it, and maybe your course management might just improve.
