Ladies' Green Lamb & Glenbrae arrivals
I have now received my Autumn/Winter stock from Green Lamb which includes such things as gilets and lined, windproof sweaters and they all come in a lovely array of colours. And many of you will also have already seen my table display of the new Glenbrae, club logoed, ¼ zip sweaters. These sweaters are always supremely popular and come in a choice of colours such as baby pink, imperial (a vibrant pink) and moon blue.
New Masters wheeled travel covers
Several of you have been asking me for "wheeled" travel covers and I'm pleased to tell you that I now have several available in the Pro Shop. These covers obviously have wheels on them which makes it much easier to transport your clubs around so rather than carrying your bag, you can simply wheel it behind you. And because these travel covers retail at £37.99 , they represent really good value too!
New self-service Grip Bar
Fresh in this week is my fantastic new Grip Bar. This allows you to see the kind of grips that we offer to replace your old, worn grips on your clubs and you’ll be able to see just what a difference a new grip makes in terms of feel and your ability to hold the club properly because I have a selection of different grips, all on shafts, available for you to try. But the most fascinating part of my Grip Bar is that you can measure your hand to see what size grip is best suited to you. For example, did you know that Nick Faldo used to have twelve layers of tape under the grip on his left hand yet only eight layers of tape under his right? So you can see just how personal and vital it is to have the correct grips and grip size. Please pop in and check out my new Grip Bar!
I don’t know about you but the regular “lead-acid” batteries don’t seem to last very long these days, so the answer is simple: a brand new lithium battery. These batteries are so good in so many ways and the benefits over a lead-acid are numerous, such as, they will recharge in about three hours, you will get about five times more life out of a lithium than a lead-acid, they’re more powerful and they’re incredibly light!
And at £199.99 , they will also come with a brand new charger and a fantastic two year unlimited warranty and a five year limited warranty. So for further details, please pop into the Pro Shop.
Men's Polo Ralph Lauren shirts reduced
If you're looking for a really great bargain, please check out my discount rail (situated outside the shop) on which I've just placed many of my men's Polo Ralph Lauren shirts and which have been marked down by 20% from the normal RRP. But hurry, because at the time of writing they are flying out the door!
New winter wheels
Not only do I have Powakaddy's very own model of winter wheels, but I now also have some winter wheels from Masters which will replace your current trolley wheels and are both different in design and slightly cheaper. These wheels are made with the raised "pimple" design, are street legal around Ashridge and cost £64.99!
SkyCaddie SGX for sale
And finally this week, I have a SkyCaddie SGX GPS unit that has been used once and I need to clear this unit from stock. This unit has lovely features such as Intelligreen Technology, Target Lists and Interactive Hole Vue and normally retails for £299.99 but I'm happy to accept just £200 so I can clear the decks.
I remember an old saying that I first heard many moons ago that goes like this - "Fail to prepare, prepare to fail!" And it's so true. Now the weather is changing and it's getting a bit cooler and potentially wetter, now is the time to take a look at your golf bag to see what's in there, and more importantly, what you'll need to put in there. For instance, assuming you've got a bag on a trolley, you should have a wet weather glove, a spare towel, a good quality waterproof suit, spare gloves, handwarmers, a woolly hat, snacks to munch on and of course, the proper clothing as well as all the necessities such as balls, tees and pencils. All of these will help keep you keep you warm and dry and enjoying your game more.
We had some unusual visitors on Saturday as a hot air balloon found itself trapped over the golf course without any wind and with its gas running out, the only option left was to land on the 9th fairway. I don't know - some people will do anything to get on the course at Ashridge!!
