Sunice Gore-Tex Suits
I will soon be taking delivery of some fantastic new Sunice Albany Gore-Tex jackets and trousers. These suits are the best of the best in terms of what a waterproof suit can offer you. The Gore-Tex material is fully water resistant and Sunice are so confident that they will not leak they offer a lifetime warranty!! The suits are not cheap however coming in at around £549.99 . To help you understand why Gore-Tex is so good we are also getting in some Demo jackets in Medium, Large and Extra Large so you can really feel the benefit please feel free to come in and give them a go.
This is the last suit you will ever need to wear!
New Under Armour men's and ladies'clothing
I now have displayed in the shop, all of my men's and ladies' Under Armour autumn/winter clothing. If you've had Under Armour winter clothing before, you will know that their clothing is really designed to help keep you nice and warm, is of a great quality and also feels really great when worn. In particular, I'd like to draw your attention to the new men's Knock Down jacket with Prima Loft. These are a casual jacket - though you can play golf in one - and come in either black, light or dark grey - and are supremely warm whilst still being relatively thin. Great for both golf and casual wear.
New self-service Grip Bar
Fresh in this week is my fantastic new Grip Bar. This allows you to see the kind of grips that we offer to replace your old, worn grips on your clubs and you’ll be able to see just what a difference a new grip makes in terms of feel and your ability to hold the club properly because I have a selection of different grips, all on shafts, available for you to try. But the most fascinating part of my Grip Bar is that you can measure your hand to see what size grip is best suited to you. For example, did you know that Nick Faldo used to have twelve layers of tape under the grip on his left hand yet only eight layers of tape under his right? So you can see just how personal and vital it is to have the correct grips and grip size. Please pop in and check out my new Grip Bar!
Men's Polo Ralph Lauren shirts reduced
If you're looking for a really great bargain, please check out my discount rail (situated outside the shop) on which I've just placed many of my men's Polo Ralph Lauren shirts and which have been marked down by 20% from the normal RRP. But hurry, because at the time of writing they are flying out the door!
New winter wheels
Not only do I have Powakaddy's very own model of winter wheels, but I now also have some winter wheels from Masters which will replace your current trolley wheels and are both different in design and slightly cheaper. These wheels are made with the raised "pimple" design, are street legal around Ashridge and cost £64.99!
And speaking of great grip…
With the softer, wetter conditions now underfoot, now is the time for you to change out of your soft spiked shoes and instead have metal spikes for the winter period. In my opinion, metal tipped spikes give better grip and are easier to both keep clean as well as ridding any debris. Pop in to the Pro Shop and in most cases, we should be able to change these spikes fairly quickly for you.
SkyCaddie SGX for sale
And finally this week, I have a SkyCaddie SGX GPS unit that has been used once and I need to clear this unit from stock. This unit has lovely features such as Intelligreen Technology, Target Lists and Interactive Hole Vue and normally retails for £299.99 but I'm happy to accept just £200 so I can clear the decks.
New Masters wheeled travel covers
Several of you have been asking me for "wheeled" travel covers and I'm pleased to tell you that I now have several available in the Pro Shop. These covers obviously have wheels on them which makes it much easier to transport your clubs around so rather than carrying your bag, you can simply wheel it behind you. And because these travel covers retail at £37.99, they represent really good value too!
The best way to play the 9th!
One of our shortest, yet most demanding holes, is the 9th and I'd like to tell you the best way of playing it. What makes this hole so awkward is the fact that the hole turns from right to left but the fairway slopes from left to right, thus making a well-struck tee shot run to the right. This then leaves an awkward second shot from a hanging lie and means you're now playing your second shot across a green that is sloping heavily from right to left. Therefore, the key to this hole is to ensure your tee shot (or laid up second shot) is as far left and as far down the hole as you can possibly get it because this will then leave a second shot that both opens up the green as well as playing more into a green that is facing you, thus helping the ball stop a whole lot quicker.
So the next time you take on this hole, remember that long and left off the tee is what you're looking for!
