In just about every case, I will be able to either match or most likely beat the price you've been quoted and not only that, if a fault develops, I'll deal with it quickly and efficiently and always with your best interests at heart. The previous Saturday's Callaway Golf Demo Day
First of all, what a fantastic day we had at Saturday's Callaway Golf Demo Day. The weather was really kind to us and the two Callaway technicians, namely Chris Viney and Andrew Shaw, performed supremely as they really looked after many of our members with their fitting ability. The day was a great success, what with having the full quota of Callaway clubs in varying shafts and lengths, and many of you were fitted with some terrific new Callaway products so I'd like to thank everyone who attended and placed an order. I hope you use your new clubs really well!
Club cleaning service
With relatively little golf going on at the moment, now is the time to look at your equipment and how best you can improve it. So why not drop in your clubs to us and allow us to:
Scrub the grips with a stiff brush and plenty of hot, soapy water. This will help clear the grips of any unwanted dirt and grime and will make them feel a whole lot better.
Give the metal shafts a rub down with some very fine wire wool but ONLY IF THEY'RE STEEL SHAFTS! This will help get rid of any pitted areas and make them shine again. If they're graphite shafts, we'll take off any blemishes in another fashion.
And finally, why not clean the clubheads with that same hot, soapy water? Maybe there's some grooves lurking under there somewehere. ;)
All this for just £10 (up to a maximum of 14 clubs).
Professional’s Winter Draw
And finally, my Winter Draw was made on Saturday and what a great night it turned out to be! Over 100 people enjoyed great food, a great atmosphere and great prizes and winning the top prize was David Martin who bagged himself a top-of-the-range Powakaddy Freeway 5 lithium trolley. I also held an "On the night" only draw where only the people attending the dinner could pay £5 and enter a separate draw and it proved a great success as Neil Twogood collected a voucher for £500! My thanks must go to Wendy Mitchell who came up with such a great idea!
I really do wish all of you could have won something but sadly, that's not possible, but I would like to thank everyone who supported this year's draw.

It is with regret that Tom has resigned his position in order to concentrate more fully on his golf this season. Tom feels that having more time will allow him to help reduce his handicap nearer to the PGA qualifying entry limit and I'm sure like me, you'll wish him well. I'd like to thank Tom for his service to me and will miss his presence and input within the Pro Shop. I shall be looking for a new assistant ASAP and will inform you when I have made an appointment.
Keep play moving and enjoy your golf more...
We all like a fast game on the course and here's some great tip for keeping play moving. When you arrive at your tee, there are a few things you can do to help keep play moving. First of all, when you park your trolley at the tee, make sure you point it down the fairway rather than away from the hole so you don't waste a few seconds turning your trolley round. Secondly, be ready to play. I know it sounds obvious but don't fill out your card if it's your honour but instead, be ready to play and get yourself on that tee and swinging. And finally, when you return to your trolley having teed off, get your trolley moving first and then put your headcover on as you're walking along - don't stand there fumbling with your headcover and then start walking! Good luck!
